5 Tempting Recipes You Can Make with Godrej Jersey Ghee
Ghee is the know-it-all healthier replacement for all cooking oils. It’s a storehouse of healthy fats, vitamins, and antioxidants. Take it as a sign to swap the butter and high-risk trans fat oils in your kitchen with Indian clarified butter. We have done our bit for you!
You can use homemade or store-bought ghee, even which is leftover after frying puris. Indulge in a few of our recipes that make use of ghee. Each of these recipes is delectable and a treat for the soul. No, we are not exaggerating! You will understand what we are talking about when you give these a try.
1. Lemon Ghee Chicken
- Start by marinating chicken breast with lemon juice and salt. Rest for 30 minutes.
- Pan-fry the marinated chicken pieces in ghee.
- Cook each side for at least 10 minutes.
- Now, keep the chicken aside.
- In the same pan, saute onions in ghee.
- Once translucent, add chopped garlic and saute.
- Add more lemon juice and rosemary. Mix well.
- At this stage, add corn flour slurry or coconut cream and bring to a boil.
- Pour this sauce on the chicken breasts.
- Finally, bake the chicken for 40-45 minutes or cook on low-medium flame until ready.
2. Gajar ka Halwa
- Thoroughly wash carrots to get rid of dirt. Peel and grate them.
- In a thick bottom pan, add loads of ghee! (not literally)
- Add milk and grated carrots.
- Cook the mixture on low heat for about 45 minutes.
- When the milk reduces to 1/4th add sugar and cardamom powder
- Stir it well until it is mixed completely with the milk.
- Meanwhile, roast some nuts in ghee in another pan.
- Add these to the halwa and let it simmer for some more minutes.
- Serve it hot or cold as per your taste.
3. Ghee Coconut Fudge
- Dry roast desiccated coconut in a frying pan
- Once it cools down, blend it in a food processor for smooth butter-like consistency.
- First blend on low speed for 1 minute, then at highest speed for another minute.
- Now add ghee, salt, and cinnamon.
- Follow the above blending instructions for 2 more minutes.
- Add honey or sugar as per your dietary preferences.
- Blend again so that the honey mixes well.
- Grease a tray with ghee and line it with parchment paper
- Transfer this mix to the tray & allow it to set evenly.
- Set it aside in the freezer or an undisturbed place for 6-8 hours.
- Once it's ready, cut out small pieces from the tray as you desire.
4. Ghee Roasted Paneer
- First, pan fry paneer cubes with ghee on low-medium heat. Set it aside.
- In another pan with ghee, roast dried red chillies, coriander seeds, methi, cumin, fennel seeds, and red chilli powder.
- Add garlic cloves and saute them lightly.
- Once it cools completely, blend these dry roast spices into a paste with some water and tamarind.
- Heat ghee in a kadhai to saute onions with curry leaves and turmeric.
- Add the masala paste and slow cook for 8-12 minutes.
- Now add some curd and mix it.
- Add salt and roasted paneer pieces. Combine them well.
5. Ghee Rava Ladoo
- Dry roast semolina on low flame until the colour changes to a light brown.
- Cool it to make a fine powder from it. Grind and sieve to ensure fineness.
- Add this semolina, cardamom powder, and powdered sugar to a big bowl.
- Melt ghee in a pan to roast cashews. Add this to the mixture & mix well.
- Now gradually pour some heated ghee into the mixture while mixing it to avoid lumps.
- Check if the mix holds well when pressed between your fingers.
- Add more hot ghee if the mixture is not forming ladoos.
- While the mix is hot, shape it into round balls.
- Store in an airtight container in a cool & dry place.
