A Quick and Delicious Besan Barfi Recipe with Godrej Jersey Ghee

Most of the time, choosing an instant sweet that is simple to prepare and looks delicious is really challenging. Besan ki barfi can be thought of as a type of gram flour fudge that is prepared using besan, sugar, and ghee. It is one of those classic sweets that people of all ages, including children, really like eating. If you carefully follow each step outlined here, you will be able to prepare a delicious besan ki barfi.

So, here is a traditional recipe for besan ki barfi:

  • First, gather all these components:  1/2 cup gram flour, 1 cup Godrej Jersey ghee, 1 cup sugar, 5 chopped almonds and cashews, 4 tbsp semolina and 1 tsp of cardamom powder.
  • Pour the ghee in a pan to melt. Once that's done, you can go on to the next step i.e. when the ghee has been melted, you will need to add one and a half cups of gram flour.
  • Let’s mix it well, ensure that you break all of the lumps. There is a danger that it might burn, be a bit patient and stir continuously. It would be painful for your arm but surely worth it!
  • In this mixture, add 4 tablespoons of semolina. Be sure to give the semolina a thorough roast in the besan. Continue to stir the mixture consistently since it will take between 15 and 20 minutes.
  • After 15 to 20 minutes, check to see that the mixture has become fluffy and that it has been thoroughly roasted. In addition, the colour should have somewhat darkened. Make sure the flame is turned off.
  • Shift it into a boil and let it cool down for 5-10 mins. In addition to this, you will know when to stop because it has a nice scent that is roasted and toasted, and it really does smell so amazing. Before we add any sugar to it, let's wait for five to ten minutes for it to cool down. Also, if you add the sugar when it's quite hot, there is a possibility that the sugar could melt, so wait till it cools down a bit.
  • The mixture will thicken as it cools down. Now add in a teaspoon of cardamom powder and powdered sugar. Mix everything finely.
  • Take a tray and spread ghee all over the tray or use butter paper. Put the mixture in the tray and spread it well with the spatula. Make sure you smoothen it out and remove any kind of air bubbles.
  • Now add some almonds, cashew, pistachio flakes to make it look more appetising. Let it sit for 1-2 hours and then unmold it with the help of a knife or spatula.
  • Your perfectly delicious besan burfi made with the goodness of Godrej Jersey ghee is ready!
